Even the most solidly built workbench will be let down in use if it’s vices have not been chosen and installed with care. We demand a lot from our bench vices and often require them to hold a huge range of shapes and sizes.

To aid our work effectively I feel strongly that a vice should be smooth and quick to operate and should cope equally well at holding small, delicate items and heavy bulky ones.
 I have given a lot of attention to this area of my workbenches in sourcing the most suitable hardware, creating the most efficient designs and installing each and every vice with care.
