Each bench is supplied with a sturdy metal holdfast and for the ‘Master’ models which feature no tail vice two are supplied, making your holding options limitless.

HOLDFASTS- FOR CENTURIES THESE HAVE BEEN THE MAIN TOOL FOR HOLDING WORK TO THE BENCH. OFTEN REPLACED TODAY BY THE TAIL VICE, I FEEL THEIR POTENTIAL IS SEVERELY OVER LOOKED.

Having learnt my trade on a bench without a tail vice I worked exclusively using holdfasts. Once mastered these are incredibly effective for any thing from clamping boards for jointing,  to holding work down for hand thicknessing.

Holdfasts can be used in both the bench top, front legs and sliding board jack. All of our holes are carefully placed to allow maximum versatility of the holdfast without interfering  with the structural integrity of the bench itself.

Once you get rid of the tail vice and start using these as your main method of holding work to the bench you will quickly realise that there’s no going back.
