Like the originals this versatile bench is very adaptable to suit a wide range of woodworking activities. The front legs feature a wedged mortice and tenon which goes through the full thickness of the top to give extreme resistance to racking and the back legs splay like the original to completely eliminate side rack. All of the joinery consists of drawbored twin mortice and tenons for prolonged structural stability. The solid 3 1/2” (4” on longer models) top features no aprons to interfere with clamping.
The large twin screw face vice is capable of holding up to two foot panels between the screws. A single hefty bench stop, sliding deadman and an abundance of holes for a holdfast give unlimited clamping options. Unlike the original we’ve added a Shaker style ‘L’ shaped tail vice, accurately dovetailed with a row of round dog holes as standard.
This workbench is available with traditional wooden screws or the option of metal hardware.
